Style

You know that moment on the walk home when you smell someone's dinner cooking? Re-Ment shrinks it down to fit in your palm: eight Japanese home-cooked meals, each detailed enough to make you hungry.

The Sculpt & Details

Each set tells the whole story of a meal. You get the raw ingredients, the cookware and the finished plate:

  • #1 Fried Shrimp: a deep-fry pot with draining rack, breaded shrimp, and a plated ebi fry with lemon and tartar sauce
  • #2 Pan-Fried Dumplings: a gyoza wrapper pack, filling, a tray of hand-folded gyoza, and a golden plated fan of dumplings
  • #3 Curry Rice: a navy stockpot, curry roux blocks, a ladle, and a plate of curry rice
  • #4 Hamburg Steak: a mixing bowl of ground meat with egg, a frying pan with sizzling patties, ketchup, and a plated hambāgu
  • #5 Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl: soy sauce and mirin bottles, a cracked egg, a small pan, and a finished oyakodon
  • #6 Cabbage Rolls: a red enamel pot with glass lid, canned tomatoes, ground meat, and wrapped cabbage rolls
  • #7 Salmon Gratin: milk, shredded cheese, flour, a salmon fillet, and a bubbling gratin dish
  • #8 Miso Soup: a cutting board with green onion and knife, a miso tub, a pot, and a bowl of miso soup

The paintwork stands out on the crispy panko, the browned gyoza and the glossy sauces. The tiny product labels are printed in Japanese, which adds to the realism. A mini sheet is included, and some packaging pieces (like the garlic and ginger boxes for #2) are cut out from it.
